The sagging fortunes of Apple Computer Inc. haven’t dimmed the enthusiasm of the Orange Apple Computer Club, based in Costa Mesa.

Events coordinator Bob Reed said the club has more than 400 members, and attendance at meetings--usually the first Saturday of each month--typically tops 150. “We’re pretty positive,” Reed said. “Apple’s still got a hell of a lot more market share than many companies.”

The club’s next meeting, Sept. 7 at Orange Coast College, will include a presentation by Power Computing, a company that makes Apple computer clones. Microsoft representatives will also be on hand to present the latest versions of the company’s software designed for Apple machines.
