International Remote Announces Turn-Around

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth maker of urinalysis workstations, turned around year-earlier losses into profits in its second quarter and six months that ended June 30, despite increased expenses from an acquisition.

The company’s second-quarter profit was $425,251, compared to a loss of $2.92 million a year before. Its quarterly sales grew 29%, to $4.78 million from $3.72 million.

In the first half of 1996, International Remote earned $867,469, while its sales gained 33%, to $9.13 million. In the comparable period of 1995, the company lost $2.52 million on sales of $6.88 million.
