Quarterdeck Corp., which makes personal computer and Internet software, said Bastiaens will remain a director and consultant. The company will be managed by a temporary office of the president, consisting of King R. Lee and Anatoly Tikhman, who was president and chief executive of Verisoft Systems, a publisher of utility software and a direct-mail marketer, before its acquisition by Quarterdeck for $28 million in July. In its fiscal third quarter ended June 30, Quarterdeck reported a loss of $22.9 million, or 73 cents a share, contrasted with a profit of $530,000, or 2 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
