Albert Denis Tessier; Pianist, Composer and Teacher

Albert Denis Tessier, 96, nationally recognized pianist, composer and teacher. Born in Las Vegas, Tessier came to Los Angeles with his family at age 6. His talent was recognized by the Philharmonic’s L.E. Behymer, who arranged for him to attend the Fontainbleau Conservatory in Paris. Tessier was admitted to the Societe des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de Musique, one of the highest honors given to an American musician. At home, Tessier received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley’s office for his continuing contributions to music. His “Celesta Symphony” was performed when Tessier was 80. On Friday in Los Angeles from complications after a fall.
