Sales of Fireworks a Risky Business

Share

* Had it not been for the pre-Fourth of July sales celebration braggadocio by the various fireworks entrepreneurs, I probably would be more indecisive about the responsibility factor concerning the fire-related costs of the recent fires attributed to the allegedly safe and sane fireworks.

If “safe and sane” fireworks from Fillmore were to cause a fire at or near my home, I would make sure the responsibility would fall squarely onto the chins of those gleeful entrepreneurs.

Let’s face it, prostitution, illegal weapons and drugs all provide fast profits, but I wouldn’t support activities that would contribute to the detriment of others.

The fireworks aficionados of Fillmore better wake up and smell the gunpowder. This time the fire was contained with moderate damage. Next time it just might create a wildfire in your own backyard.

Friends and citizens of Fillmore, please try to recognize the collective interests of all of Southern California during our annual fire season. Try bake sales or arms for hostages or something safer and saner.
