1993 Il Palazzino Chianti Classico ($14.99)

Share

A very pretty Chianti Classico from a small but terrific producer best known for a Supertuscan, Grosso Sanese. Brilliant ruby in color, the 1993 Il Palazzino smells like cherries. It’s loaded with fruit but has a nice snap of acidity and tannin that gives it a certain elegance. Delicious now, it can age for a couple of years more, no problem. The Chianti is ideal with pasta dishes and rotisserie chicken but especially with arista, the pork loin roasted with garlic, rosemary and black pepper that is a specialty of Florence.
