Wet Seal Inc. isn’t clueless when it comes to marketing its apparel and accessories to young women. The Irvine-based company recently signed a deal with Paramount Network Television to promote its merchandise on Clueless, a new television series that will debut later this month on ABC-TV.

Based on the hit movie of the same name, Clueless will be chock full of “rich, hyper-hormonal” kids who, according to Paramount’s publicity department, are “the ultimate victims to fashion.”

It’s Wet Seal’s job to come up with clothing that will be worn on the show and featured in the 365 Wet Seal and Contempo Casuals stores nationwide. Wet Seal also will run Clueless promotional videos in its stores.
