Unilab Corp. Reduces Loss for 2nd Quarter

Unilab Corp. announced a narrower loss in its second quarter on a 9% rise in revenues.
The Tarzana-based medical laboratory company posted a $2.7-million loss in the quarter that ended June 30, compared to a $37.6-million loss a year ago.
Last year’s quarterly loss was due in part to charges related to various acquisitions. Revenues in the latest quarter rose to $52.1 million, up from $47.9 million last year.
For the six-month period, Unilab posted a net loss of $8.1 million, compared to a loss of $37 million a year earlier. Revenues rose 15% to $103.6 million, up from $90.2 million, for the six months.
