Winnie-the-Pooh has a new “Thotful Spot,” and this one has a food court. Beginning today, E.E. Milne’s “silly old bear” welcomes audiences at the Storefront Theatre, a new 60-seat venue in the Mission Viejo Mall.

“Winnie-the-Pooh,” produced by the Saddleback College fine arts department, is the second family show staged at the mall (Saddleback’s “Alice in Wonderland” opened the space last month). Reservations through Saddleback’s ticket office are suggested, but you can buy tickets at the door 20 minutes before each performance.

Oscar Wilde’s next-to-last play, “An Ideal Husband,” is getting first-class treatment on South Coast Repertory’s Mainstage. The play mixes Wilde’s famously witty dialogue with an uncommonly serious theme about political scandal, high principles and the compromises life requires. Though it has been long overlooked in favor of “The Importance of Being Earnest,” which is Wilde’s acknowledged masterpiece, “An Ideal Husband” is an entirely seaworthy comedy.

Not since 1987 has Neil Young stomped into Orange County with Crazy Horse, his most fabled backing band. Fans of Young at his pounding, guitar-excursionary best treasure such Horse-powered albums as “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere,” “Zuma,” “Rust Never Sleeps,” “Ragged Glory” and “Sleeps With Angels.” The new “Broken Arrow” isn’t in that league, sounding more like an offhanded, bash-it-out break from the artistic hot streak Young has been on since his 1989 release “Freedom.” Second-billed Patti Smith brings Hall of Fame-worthy stature of her own to the bill, touring with her elegiac comeback album, “Gone Again.” There’s no need to rush to see opening band Sponge, a catchy but imitative and pretentious modern-rock act from Detroit.

Dance

In India, classical dance is supposed to be more than just entertainment. It is a kind of yoga or physical and spiritual discipline for the performers. For the audience, it is a means to help further understanding and appreciation of the divine.

The dance drama “Siva Sakti,” to be performed Sunday by a group of dancers and musicians from southern India, will traverse myths and legends surrounding various godhead figures, including those named in the title. It will be danced in the Vazhuvoor style of Bharata Natyam.
