Capotec, IFX Form Alliance

Wiz Technology Inc.’s Capotec division entered a formal marketing alliance with IFX International Inc. of San Diego. Wiz Technology said IFX will market and implement a franchise support system developed by IFX, Capotec and Digital Systems Research Inc., Wiz’s technology partner.

The system is designed to employ Internet technology to improve communication and documentation systems used by franchise networks.

Under the agreement, Wiz will receive a percentage of design, maintenance and licensing fees. For the initial systems, Wiz could receive an estimated $1.1 million in the first year, $2.2 million in the second year and $3.5 million in the third year.

IFX, is a division of InterAct Concept Development Corp., also of San Diego, which develops and manages franchise operations.

Wiz Technologies operates two divisions involved in the publishing and distribution of computer software and the design and marketing of intranet systems.
