Two bruised, naked women wearing shackles around their necks and ankles escaped from a home where they had been held hostage, beaten and sexually assaulted for days, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued Friday for Richard Paul Elliott, who was believed to have kidnapped and held the women at his rented home just outside Baltimore before they escaped Thursday.

Charges included two counts of kidnapping, two counts of first-degree sexual offense and a handgun violation, police said. Elliott, 57, has an extensive criminal record that includes kidnapping and sexual assault, they said.

The women told police they were working separately as prostitutes when Elliott picked them up.
