Fugitive in Killing, Firebombing Arrested
A fugitive who is believed to have belonged to a Muslim group accused of terrorism has been arrested in the 1984 firebombing of a Denver temple and the 1990 slaying of a Muslim mosque leader in Tucson, Ariz.
Edward Flinton, 50, was taken into custody without incident here Thursday and waived extradition to Colorado, an FBI spokesman said.
Flinton, a native of Pakistan, was charged with arson in the August 1984 burning of the temple, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, along with six others, in the Jan. 31, 1990, slaying of Rajad Abbel Khalifa. The seven charged in the latter case reportedly belonged to Al-Faqra, a group of Muslims that authorities have accused of terrorism.
