“Seinfeld”, “ER” Ad Costs Hit $1 Million Per Minute: Two of NBC’s most popular shows are the first regularly scheduled network programs to break the $1-million-per-minute barrier for commercial time. The trade publication Advertising Age reported that advertisers are paying an average of $550,000 for 30 seconds during “Seinfeld” and $500,000 for 30 seconds during “ER.” Impressive as they are, the sums don’t set a TV record. Commercials during the Super Bowl pro football championship exceed $2 million a minute.
