Toshiba Information Systems Names Sales, Marketing Chiefs

Rod Keller has joined Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Disk Products division in Irvine as vice president of sales. He previously held several positions at Digital Equipment Corp., including vice president of channel sales for North America and vice president of consumer products for the Americas. Before that, he was with Compaq Computer Corp. and Dell Computer Corp. Scott Smith was named vice president of marketing. Smith was formerly with AST Research, where his positions included vice president and general manager of the server products division and vice president and general manager of the desktop products division. Before that, Smith worked for IBM Corp. for 16 years in various engineering and marketing positions. In addition, Ken Jones was appointed director of marketing for the company’s new DVD-ROM drive. Jones was previously director of marketing with Seagate Technology and before that held positions with AT&T; Bell Laboratories, Hughes Electronics and IBM.

* Shirley Wentzel has been appointed senior vice president of market development for National Bank of Southern California in Newport Beach. She has been with the bank for four years as vice president, regional manager of the Newport Beach branch. Also, Robert W. Browne has joined the bank as vice president and relationship manager for the real estate division. He has been in banking for 26 years.

* Jeff Olsen has been named chairman of the California Assn. of Community Managers, based in Irvine. He is with Professional Community Management in Lake Forest.

* Kevin Pratt will head the new Santa Ana office of the Sandler Sales Institute, a sales training company. He was formerly the director of sales training and development for Allergan Inc.

* Charles Gorlinski has joined Productivity Enhancement Products Inc., a Laguna Hills engineering and product development firm, as director of engineering. He was formerly hardware engineering manager for more than seven years at Workstation Technologies in Irvine.

* Geoff Wilson has been named executive director of Junior Achievement of Orange County and the Inland Empire. He was formerly director of education in the San Diego office for seven years.
