The Sky’s the Limit

Doing handstands on a biplane may not be your idea of a career with a bright future, but never fear. That’s just part of the entertainment at the 1996 Torrance Air Fair. “Reach for the Sky With Careers in Aviation” will have information on aviation jobs, from pilots to mechanics, to those that will keep your feet planted firmly on the ground.

But the main attraction of the fair, as usual, will be the featured aerial routines, which include ultralight and war-bird fly-bys, a parachutist and, of course, Margaret Stivers doing her Jazzercise routine on a vintage Stearman biplane.

Exhibits, information booths and hands-on activities will fill the Robinson Pavilion; there will also be displays of vintage and classic aircraft and automobiles. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Torrance Municipal Airport, 3301 Airport Drive, Torrance. $3; ages 5 and younger, free. (310) 325-7223.
