Credit Card Users

Re “Dead Wrong About ‘Deadbeats,’ ” editorial, Sept. 12:

Since when did I become a “deadbeat” for paying my bills on time? I use credit cards for convenience only, and pay my monthly bills in full. If these companies feel they need to charge an annual fee of $25 to us “deadbeats,” a group of only 20%, they’re wrong. Certainly the company must charge the group who owe and only pay minimum amounts. But why should we “deadbeats” have to help pay for their folly in overcharging?

I see nothing wrong with an initial charge of $25 in order to be entered into their computer system and to be issued a card.

Frankly, since I pay on time, I’m not the “deadbeat,” those that abuse their cards are.
