Lightly Scented

Share

Fall and winter are just around the corner, but you don’t have to wait for that certain chill in the air to enjoy the scents of the seasons.

Tiffany & Co. brings nature indoors with its At Home seasonal candle collection. The scents combine the notes of the classic Tiffany fragrance, jkare, with those that remind one of the winter season.

The candles are packaged in frosted glass containers. The scent of fall is a blend of violet, cinnamon, clove and amber. Winter has notes of orange tree blossom, vanilla spice, cranberry, holly and cinnamon.

Candles with the winter scent and the Tiffany fragrance are available individually ($30) or in a limited edition set of three--Tiffany scent, fall and winter ($140) at Tiffany & Co. in South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa.

Creature Comforts

Pamper your pet with a plumed bed offered by Neiman Marcus in the 1996 Christmas Book.

The bed, an 18th century replica handcrafted for the Parness Collection, has a dome featuring gold leaf, raspberry silk and hand-curled ostrich feathers--truly the lap of luxury. It measures 54 inches by 43 inches by 58 inches.

The bed is adorned with four pineapples--hand-carved, of course--and the fabrics selected reflect the style used for pets of the French aristocracy and royal families.

The price is regal too: $7,150.

Table Talk

Lenox is setting the table with casual dinnerware, the company’s first moderately priced casual china collection.

The Casual Images collection includes six patterns--Garden Vines, Summer Terrace, Rose Garden, Dutch Lace, Key West and Fruit Groves.

Garden Vines is white with carvings of meandering vines on the border. Summer Terrace features green and tan leaves on the dinner plate and a green and white piano motif on the accompanying pieces for a mix-and-match look. Rose Garden has burgundy and white flowers on a white background. Dutch Lace has a blue-on-white floral design.

Key West is contemporary, with a gray marble border design, and Fruit Groves has a different fruit on each piece for a colorful table ensemble.

Each piece has a rolled edge to make it chip-resistant and durable, and it’s microwave- and dishwasher-safe too.

Five-piece place settings (dinner plate, salad plate, soup/cereal bowl, cup and saucer) and four-piece settings (dinner plate, salad plate, soup/cereal bowl and oversized mug) are about $57 for the Garden Vine pattern, about $71 for the others.
