Bodle Joins Panel on Teachers’ Pensions
Gov. Pete Wilson has appointed Yvonne Gallegos Bodle, a business professor at Ventura College and a Channel Islands Harbor resident, to the state Teachers Retirement Board.
Bodle, a Republican, has served on the Community Colleges Board of Governors since 1991. She has been a professor in Ventura since 1965.
The retirement board provides policy guidance for the California State Teachers Retirement System, which with almost half a million members is the largest teachers’ pension plan in the nation.
Retirement board members, who meet monthly, do not receive a salary. But they are paid $100 per meeting plus a maximum of $300 per meeting for expenses.
