From Times Wire Reports

Myanmar’s military regime accused Aung San Suu Kyi of plotting with the United States to foment unrest and banned a meeting that would have brought hundreds of her followers together. Police set up barricades on the avenue leading to the pro-democracy leader’s compound, where the meeting was to have taken place, and on the street in front of the headquarters of her National League for Democracy. No one was arrested, but the government said some people were called in for questioning. The party did not issue a statement, but it appeared the three-day meeting would not take place.
