Irvine Site for Lucent Regional Headquarters

Lucent Technologies, the former AT&T; technology and phone systems business, becomes an independent company today and is opening a regional headquarters for Southwestern states in Irvine. The new office initially will house about 60 of Lucent’s 200 Orange County employees. But the company already is hiring for a new regional data products sales center that will share the facility and add from 20 to 30 new workers to the payroll.
