School Suspends Girl Caught With Midol

A 13-year-old honor student in Fairborn, Ohio, who borrowed Midol from a friend was suspended for 10 days and ordered to undergo a drug evaluation or possibly face expulsion. Erica Taylor did not end up using the over-the-counter pills, which are taken to relieve cramps, headaches and other symptoms related to menstrual periods. Baker Junior High School officials said they could be held liable if students were allowed to take medications without visiting the school nurse and had bad reactions.
