Sexual Harassment

* I just read the column by Carol Tavris on sexual abuse (Commentary, Sept. 30). It brought to mind something I have been thinking about for three months.

I volunteer at my grandson’s school and have for the past two years. There are many of the girls in the class (ages 6 and 7) who hug me when they see me. In light of all of the concerns surrounding sexual abuse and harassment, I am considering not volunteering this year.

Somehow the completely innocent can be turned into something evil by anyone so inclined.

I think it is truly unfortunate that at my age (66) I have to even concern myself about these issues, but that is the reality that I am confronted with.
