Seniors’ Health Fair to Take Place at Mall

A health fair for seniors will be held today at Sherman Oaks Galleria.

“Senior Connection,” scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is designed to give seniors information about health and lifestyle, with tips on recreation, education and career choices after retirement.

More than 30 exhibitors are scheduled to be on hand to field inquiries from seniors and their caretakers at the mall located at 15301 Ventura Blvd.

Among those exhibitors will be representatives from the Alzheimer’s Assn., the Los Angeles City Department on Aging, the Los Angeles Police Department, West Valley Division’s Gray Squad, ElderHostel and Second Careers.

The event also will feature a discussion at 11 a.m. with Warren Eckstein, host of radio’s “The Pet Show,” KABC-AM (790).

And members of the West Coast Theatrefest Company will perform scenes from “West Side Story,” “King and I” and “Miss Saigon.” The shows will be at 1 and 1:30 p.m.

The event, which is free of charge, is co-sponsored by the Galleria and CareAmerica 65, a Medicare-contracted HMO.
