Low Opinion: Those are two pretty long days in the Valley, says Entertainment Weekly, which pans “2 Days in the Valley” by calling the MGM film “Pure smog. Like a virus that eats away at the brain.” . . . Forget the locations, such as the Studio City Golf Course and LAPD’s Van Nuys station house. . . . The mag gives the film a D- rating.

High Hopes: The Valley’s other Hollywood entity, ABC’s “High Incident,” isn’t faring much better. The one-hour TV police drama, filmed on Valley streets, dropped as low as 72nd in the A.C. Nielsen Ratings. . . . Last week, boosted by aggressive promotion, “High Incident” climbed to the 64th spot, which is significantly better than being compared to pollution.

Catching On: David Romines is neither big nor particularly fast. He plays football with a surgically repaired left shoulder. But the Cal State Northridge senior is currently the leading Division I-AA receiver in the country with 54 catches for 769 yards in just five games this season (C8). . . . Said Romines: “I feel I’ve gotten the most out of what I have.”

Double Fantasy: John Lennon’s birthday is today, but the folks at the Imagine Center, a Tarzana metaphysical bookstore, just couldn’t wait to celebrate. . . . They planned a party for last night, complete with English tea, cake and a helping of New Age. “I’m going to invoke him,” said owner Judy Levy, who named the shop after Lennon’s hit song. “He speaks to me frequently. We hope he shows up for his birthday.”
