Forbes 400 Are Better Off, but ‘We’ Aren’t
- Share via
The political pollsters have concluded that “we” are better off now than we were four years ago. Who did they ask? Beyond any doubt it was the Forbes 400 richest Americans (“121 Billionaires Top Forbes List of 400 Richest Americans,” Sept. 30). Now we have 121 billionaires in this country. This is an increase of 27 in only one year! I’m sure that those 121 feel better off.
Obviously a broad cross-section of the voting public was not asked this loaded question. I doubt that the 400 concern themselves with such mundane issues as overbearing taxes, soaring bankruptcies, massive credit card default and real income increases of only 1.6%.
November’s election is going to shock the pollsters.
