The Friends of the La Habra Library, a nonprofit organization that raises money for programs and book purchases, is urging residents to help offset budget cuts by donating used books or buying newspaper subscriptions.
Because of county budget cuts, the branch cannot afford to subscribe to newspapers, and a reference librarian’s job is in danger of being cut, officials there said.
The used books are sold in a bookstore at the library.
The library is at 221 E. La Habra Blvd.
