Public Officials
Re Suzanne Garment’s piece in Opinion, Oct. 6: Boiling it down, she avers that the reason public officials lie is because they are asked “tough” questions. Isn’t that like blaming the victim for being at the scene of the crime? As she postulates it, the victim is the questioner, the criminal is the liar. That’s how it should always be.
