FBI Agent Kills Extortion Suspect

A teenager who threatened to blow up the Bonneville Dam in an extortion plot was shot to death in Stevenson, Wash., by an FBI agent when he arrived at the dam to pick up the ransom, authorities said. Nathaniel Milligan, 18, died in the confrontation near a visitors’ center at the dam, about 40 miles east of Portland, Ore. Two hours earlier, tourists found a tape recorder containing a bomb threat and a demand for $15,000.
