Former Warner Bros. Exec Launches Internet Studio: Steven Koltai today will launch CyberStudios--an independent studio dedicated exclusively to content for the Internet--in Culver City. Koltai, founder of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and former senior strategist for the Burbank studio, said CyberStudios will operate like a traditional movie and television studio by bringing together content developers for the World Wide Web with businesses seeking to make money on the Internet global computer network. Most Web sites have struggled to find profits on the Web, but Koltai said that CyberStudios’ productions will be designed to make money through advertising, cross-promotional tie-ins and other means. The privately funded studio has signed up more than 50 independent developers since its inception in March.
