Otton Sorry Over Outburst

Brad Otton, once a quiet, mild-mannered USC quarterback, came off the field Saturday at Arizona State looking like a wild man.
Veins bulged in his neck after an officials’ muffed call ended the 48-35 overtime loss.
The officials’ locker room is in the same building as the visiting team’s at Sun Devil Stadium, and Otton entered the front door with two officials.
“I don’t know who made that call, but he blew it!” Otton said. Then he shouted a vulgarity at no one in particular.
Five minutes later, there was a knock at the officials’ door. It was Otton, once again quiet, mild-mannered.
“I’d like to apologize to you guys for what I said a few minutes ago,” he said. “That wasn’t me talking. I lost my cool and I’m sorry.”
