Wyle Electronics: The Irvine distributor of semiconductors and computer products reported that third-quarter profit dropped 15% to $8.6 million, or 67 cents a share, from $10.1 million, or 80 cents a share, for last year’s third quarter. Sales increased 8% to $295 million from $273 million. Net income for the first nine months was $30.7 million, or $2.38 a share, an increase of 20% from $25.6 million, or $2.03 a share, for the year-ago period. Sales were up 19% to $929 million from $778 million.
