FileNet Corp.: The Costa Mesa software company reported third-quarter net income of $3.4 million, or 22 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $1.5 million, or 10 cents a share, for the third quarter last year. The 1995 figure included a onetime after-tax charge of $5 million. Revenue gained 13% to $64.6 million from $57.1 million.

The company reported a net loss of $5.9 million, or 39 cents a share, for the nine-month period, which included onetime charges of $16 million for merger, restructuring and other costs. For the like period last year, net income totaled $3 million, or 19 cents a share. Revenue increased 22% to $196.4 million from $161.6 million.
