Wire-to-Wire Win for Babeinthewoods

Babeinthewoods went to the lead immediately and stayed there the rest of the way en route to a four-length victory in Thursday’s $37,000 feature race at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Alex Solis and carrying 117 pounds, Babeinthewoods covered the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.

R Affair, ridden by Michael Hunter, finished second and Valid Metaphor, with Patrick Valenzuela aboard, was another half-length behind in third.

Babeinthewoods, a bay filly trained by Richard Mandella, has two wins, two seconds and a third in eight career starts.
