KPCC in So Many Words

Regarding “KPCC Change Leaves an On-Air Vacuum,” (Aug. 11):

KPCC’s switch from music to talk has, indeed, deprived Southern California listeners of many delightful jazz programs. “Classic American Music,” in particular, featured wonderful music, well-presented, artfully crafted and joyfully performed. It was simply great radio and a pleasure I miss every morning.

However, I am not surprised that general manager Rod Foster received fewer complaint calls regarding the loss of musical fare than anticipated. Many listeners, already weary of talk, just sighed in the face of the inevitable and sadly, but silently, switched stations or switched off.
