Breedlove’s Fast, but Not That Fast
The Oct. 22 article on Craig Breedlove’s attempt to break the land-speed record states that he was the first to drive faster than 400 mph. Did I miss something or has The Times rewritten history?
Mickey Thompson drove the Challenger at Bonneville to a record speed of 406.6 mph in 1960, a record that stood for years.
