ACT Networks and California Microwave Satellite Transmission Systems Division (CM-STS) have announced an agreement to jointly develop a satellite network system.
Under the terms of the agreement, the new system will be based on technology from ACT’s SkyFrame product and CM-STS’ Flex Frame Network DAMA-Overlay. The resultant product will be marketed by both parties.
“This agreement allows CM-STS to bring a new and fully featured product to market quickly,” said Brian Maloney, president of CM-STS.
“This new capability will allow SkyFrame to address much larger networks and offer additional savings . . . to the end users,” said Martin Shum, chairman and chief executive officer of ACT.
California Microwave is an international supplier of microwave radios and telecommunications satellite Earth stations used in wireless communications.
ACT Networks of Camarillo develops and manufactures network access products for a broad range of voice, data and integrated network applications.
