PRETTY SCARY

Thank you, Calendar staff, for venting my spleen in your wonderful, frightening article “The 13 Scariest Things in Pop Culture” (Oct. 27).

I found myself nodding gleefully in agreement as each of these most-annoying trends and phenomena was listed. Yes, why has Saucer-Eyed Alien Head become the Happy Face of the ‘90s? Can someone introduce me to the idiot who made cigar smoking in vogue so I can egg his house next Oct. 31? Perhaps I might recommend No. 14: Is it possible anymore to turn on MTV and actually see a video?
