Rare Stamp Sells for Record $2.3 Million

A rare, 141-year-old Swedish stamp was sold at auction for a record $2.3 million, making it the single most valuable postage stamp in the world. The “Treskilling Yellow” was purchased by an anonymous private buyer. The stamp, printed in 1855, is prized for its yellow-orange color, which is regarded as a printing error and is unique among other greenish stamps in the issue.
