Unico’s 3rd-Quarter Profit Increases 24%

Unico American Corp., a Woodland Hills insurance holding company, reported strong earnings gains in its third quarter and nine months that ended Sept. 30.

Unico’s third-quarter profit was $1.75 million, up 24% from $1.41 million a year earlier. Its quarterly revenue rose 13%, to $11.8 million from $10.4 million.

For the recent nine-month period, the company reported that its earnings increased 25% to $3.42 million from $2.74 million a year before. Revenues rose 12% to $23.1 million from $20.6 million in the comparable period in 1995.

Unico provides property, casualty, health and life insurance through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
