From Times Wire Reports

Hopes were fading fast for the more than 1,000 fishermen missing for five days after a cyclone devastated the southeastern coast, raising fears that the death toll could go as high as 2,000. “Their fate is not known. All of them could be dead,” Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh state said of the missing fishermen. Since the onslaught of rains, 112-mph winds and 10-foot waves that caused an estimated $1.5 billion in damage, hundreds of corpses have already washed ashore, and more than 200,000 people are huddled in makeshift relief camps.
