Prop. 213
Re the sad truth about Prop. 213: Between the words “felons” and “drunk drivers” the insurance interests cleverly inserted the words “uninsured motorists” and the voters overlooked it.
Who are “uninsured motorists”? Do they belong in the same statute as the other intentional wrongdoers? Mainly they are poor people who can’t afford to pay their premiums and keep up with their other necessities as well. But now they are barred from the courthouse! If a poor person or someone who accidentally overlooked an insurance premium gets wiped out by a drunk or negligent driver, they have no place to go for justice. The voters were deceived!
