An Orange Coast College art history professor will present a lecture on “Unique Art and Architecture Around the World” to benefit an AIDS support group in Laguna Beach.
The discussion by Irini Vallera-Rickerson will feature a slide presentation showing art and architecture from exotic locales, including South Africa, Greece and Turkey.
Vallera-Rickerson said $500 from the proceeds will go to the Orange Coast College Foundation to establish a scholarship for a student artist, and the remainder will be presented to Laguna Shanti, a nonprofit organization that provides emotional and practical support for people with HIV, AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.
The lecture will be at the campus Forum on Nov. 22 from 8 to 9 p.m. The fee is $10. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Gallery on campus.
