Sites Accepting Flags for Disposal
Now that Veterans Day is over, those who love Old Glory are reminding people that the law requires state and national flags to be disposed of in a dignified manner--preferably by burning.
Several organizations throughout Ventura County accept flags of all types--U.S., POW/MIA, state and corporate--that are worn, torn and faded for proper disposal. They include:
* American Legion Post 48, 2639 Wagon Wheel Road, Oxnard.
* American Legion Post 741, 7 Nellora St., Camarillo.
* Photography by Forrest, 100 N. Rancho Road, Suite 7, Thousand Oaks.
* Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge 2477, 158 Conejo School Road, Thousand Oaks.
* Veterans of Foreign War Post 1679, 3801 Market St., Ventura.
All these locations accept flags year-round. Flags may be dropped off during regular business hours.
