Kids Celebrate Their Own Rose Parade

Share

No need to shove through a row of enormous knees and other human obstacles to see this parade, thank you very much.

Instead of riding on the shoulders of adults, this morning kids will create their own version of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses New Year’s Day festivities, a tiny tradition known as the Rosebud Parade.

Handmade (and hand-held) miniature floats will toddle down South Lake Avenue between Del Mar Boulevard and San Pasqual Street, led by grand marshal and celebrity feline Morris the Cat.

Covered in flowers by little hands, bicycles, tricycles, wagons and other non-motorized means of transportation will also scoot down the route at 11 a.m.--after a 10:15 a.m. coronation ceremony planned for the Rosebud king and queen, said tournament spokeswoman Erica Amestoy.
