Southland Home Sales Up in October

The Southern California housing market showed continued signs of improvement in October, with strong sales growth and stable prices. October sales of all single-family homes and condominiums in the Southern California region rose 13.4% from the same month last year to 18,505 units, according to DataQuick Information Systems, a La Jolla-based real estate research firm. The median sales price for the region remained unchanged at $160,000 (see accompanying chart for a county-by-county breakdown).
