Benjamin Quarles; Author of African American History Books

Benjamin Arthur Quarles, 92, an authority and author on African American history. Quarles taught history at Morgan State University in Washington, D.C., from 1953 to 1974 and chaired the school’s history department from 1953 to 1967.
