Power Failure Stalls London’s Subway
From Times Wire Reports
An electrical failure knocked out most of the London subway system, stranding passengers on trains for 2 1/2 hours. No injuries were reported. The power went off about 9:45 p.m. and was not restored until shortly after midnight. Theater crowds and people emerging from restaurants milled about on the streets, waiting to squeeze onto already crowded buses or to hail a rare empty cab.
