Miss Capistrano Valley Contestants Sought

The Chamber of Commerce is seeking contestants for the 1997 Miss Capistrano Valley Scholarship Pageant.

Contestants must be from 17 to 22 years old and at least a senior in high school. They must also live or work in San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point or San Clemente.

The winner of the pageant, which will be Feb. 8 in San Juan Capistrano, will receive a $1,000 scholarship and represent her city at community events in the Capistrano Valley in the next year. The contestants are judged in several categories including speech skills, judges interview, oral communication skills and grade-point average.

Applications are due Dec. 21 and can be picked up at the San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point or San Clemente chamber of commerce office.
