Concordia Settles Down in Time to Win

Concordia settled down late in the second half to take the lead, then held on to beat Northwest Nazarene (Idaho) College, 87-71, in a nonconference men’s basketball game Friday at Concordia.

Nazarene went on an 8-2 run at the start of the second half to take a 45-40 lead, but Concordia (3-1) responded with a 21-7 run.

Greg O’Hagan had 21 points to lead Concordia. O’Hagan scored 19 of his points on free throws. Kalim Scott had 17 points and led the Eagles with nine rebounds. Concordia’s free-throw shooting was pivotal, making 13-14 in the second half.

In the Chapman men’s basketball tournament:

Chapman 115, LIFE Bible 49--Every player on Chapman’s 16-man roster scored. Wayemon Powell had 14 points to lead Chapman.

In the Azusa Pacific tournament:

Holy Names 99, Pacific Christian 86--Marc’Shawn Williams had 25 points and Kevin Yenchik was six for 10 from behind the three-point line for 22 points to lead Holy Names (1-6). Charles Henderson had 23 points and Josh Whelihan had 21 points for Pacific Christian (1-4).
