Democrats Begin Review of Donations

The Democratic National Committee said it has launched a review of questionable contributions to the party and will no longer answer questions about donations until the inquiry is completed. DNC National Chairman Donald L. Fowler said in a statement that the DNC has hired a law firm, Debevoise & Plimpton, to help it comply with fund-raising laws and respond to inquiries from federal agencies or congressional committees. The DNC has asked the Federal Election Commission to review dubious donations.
